SELLING: Star Wars D6 RPG

Many moons ago I used to play role-playing games and one of my favourites was the Star Wars D6 system. The universe was so well known that it was easy to get players and the system itself was dead easy to explain. That meant I could concentrate on the story and the characters rather than the game mechanics.

Anyway, I'm now selling all my Star Wars D6 books. They date back to the late 80's (1987-1989) but are in quite good nick considering they were so well used.

The auctions are here on eBay.

NEW MODEL FUND: Sell, sell, sell!

As I've mentioned previously, my personal situation necessitates the sale of much of my gaming paraphenalia.

Since I last updated my New Model Fund in December I have made a healthy profit of £266.68. I achieved this with the sale of half a dozen old RPG magazines, my Imperial Strongpoint terrain, a load of Necromunda terrain, and several Blood Bowl teams.

I've got three auctions running at the moment - some crater terrain, old school Ork warbikers and a rare first issue of Adventurer RPG magazine.

It's just a pity that all this cash will be spent on practical stuff, rather than shiny new models! Maybe sometime in the future...

General: lone pilgrim is dead. Long live lone pilgrim!

1&1 have shut down my original blogs and sent me my final invoice so I'm now exclusively hosted on Blogger.

I still haven't really been involved in any hobby activity other than buying a copy of Tales of Heresy and reading some of the short stories within. I plan to review the book on here when I finish it.

As I mentioned previously I'm pretty hard up at the moment so I've had to make some tough decisions about selling my Games Workshop stuff. The first casualties will be the things I haven't even got round to painting yet. I have boxes and boxes of unpainted models to sell before I get around to selling my painted stuff, but the first items I've put up on eBay are terrain.

They include most of the Planetstrike terrain I bought with excitement at the end of last year. It's heartbreaking but it has to be done. So if you're interested in getting some 'as new' 40k terrain check out my auctions here:

Planetstrike Imperial Strongpoint, Blastcape craters, Moonscape craters, crashed Aquila lander, Necromunda terrain

As you can see from the link, I'm also selling some Necromunda terrain, including over 100 plastic bulkheads!

Expect to see a blizzard of stuff from me on eBay over the coming weeks.

SELLING: Greenskins

Hot on the heels of my previous auctions, I have another batch of models up for sale.

Most of the new models are 40k Orks. As I go through my collection of Ork models I am deciding which ones to keep and which ones to sell. Although there are a lot to build and paint there are also a lot I want to sell, mostly the older models.

First up though, is the current Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka model fully painted. It might seem strange that I'm selling this given that I'm about to start an Ork army but I fear his existing colour scheme won't fit into my new scheme. I also have a second unpainted version which I'm going to keep.

The rest of the Ork models are old school models from the Gorkamorka period. There is a Trukk, painted to a tabletop standard.

A Wartrakk with twin-linked big shoota.

And everyone's favourite: Warbikers.

Last, but definitely not least, we have a couple of lovely Goblin cheerleaders.

I'm hoping my two batches of eBay sales will take me to that magic £750 target.

SELLING: eBay model auctions

On Sunday I listed some more models on eBay. This is part of my final push to hit that magic £750 total for the New Model Fund by Christmas.

You can check out the auctions here.

I'm selling the Imperial Guard special character Captain Al'rahem, a Tanith Command squad including Corbec, Dorden, Milo, Larkin, and a plasma gunner, a limited edition Inquisitor Gideon Lorr model and a fully painted Goblin Blood Bowl Team including Ripper Bolgrot and three secret weapons.

I'm hoping to pull in something like £50 from these auctions, which would leave me about £35 short of my target. That would mean one more set of sales before Christmas and I'd be done.

Here's hoping.

SELLING: eBay bonanza

I don't have any real news for you tonight so I thought I'd let you know about the eBay auctions I have running.

There are 36 items in total, ranging across several games systems.

Catachan Imperial Guard
I stripped my Catachans a while back with the intention of repainting them but I simply have too many armies already without duplicating the Imperial Guard. Therefore I've put all of the metal models up for sale. There are lascannon teams, mortar teams, special weapons and loads more.

Blood Bowl
I'm also selling several metal Blood Bowl models. These are all long out of print and include Dark Elves, Humans, Orcs, a Deathroller and a Treeman.

Sister of Battle/Witch Hunters
I bought a job lot of Sisters in a Games Workshop sale during the switch over from 2nd to 3rd edition 40k. Unfortunately I got several duplicates, so I'm selling the spares now. There are some Seraphim, Sister superiors and a Banner Bearer.

Odds and sods
The last model is quite timely; Skaven Plague Lord Skrolk. I am also selling two out of print Black Library books. The first is the Life of Sigmar background book by Matt Ralphs and the second is a limited edition (number 123) Darkness Rising background book, covering the Storm of Chaos campaign.

I'm hoping to add a fair amount to the New Model Fund as a result of these auctions. I'm not looking forward to packaging them up and posting them, though!

SELLING: First rank SELL! Second rank SELL!

To do list:
  • DONE - Convert and post up another battle report
  • DONE - Complete my Dreadnought conversion
  • DONE - Undercoat the interior of my Land Raider Crusader
  • DONE - Start stripping my plastic Catachans
  • DONE - Sort out my podcasts on iTunes
  • DONE - Check my IG listings on eBay and link to the auction from this blog
  • Paint the metallics on my Terminators
  • Apply transfers to my Techmarine and Death Company
  • Sort out my Blood Angels photographs on Picasa
Battle report
The battle report I have posted here is a bit of a cheat as far as my to-do list goes. I was supposed to have written up one of my photo heavy games but instead I found an old text only report that I'd forgotten to blog about earlier. It's a 2000 point game where my Chaos Space Marines took on Gary's Dark Eldar in a 4th edition game.

eBay
And now for the ad break.

After dithering for many a blog entry over the entire lifetime of this blog I've only gone and put all my Praetorians up for sale on eBay.

Amongst the auctions are seven heavy weapon teams, eight special weapons, three sergeants, two captains, two standard bearers, two buglers and dozens of Infantrymen.

The sale comes to an end on Sunday and I'm hoping that they'll go to a good home in time for the new Imperial Guard codex. I also hope they'll bring in some decent funds for my New Model Fund.

Replies
Much to my surprise people have been following my ramblings and have actually taken the time to post comments, so it's only right that I salute them and reply.
@Tristan - I'm getting in a curry and will be watching the game with a can of Stella tonight! It'll take my mind off the Toon's fight against relegation.
@bG - Thanks for the tips. I really hope it works OK because I've got a lot of models that will be stripped and repainted if it does.
@suneokun - An absolutely great read and you put my thoughts into words better than I did. I still like the Cadians but the Catachans just ooze character. For anyone who has checked the link you can do so here.

What to do, what to do...

GENERAL: Necrons/Cthulhu

I'm continuing to re-post my battle reports at pace, and I have another Daemonhunters game to show you. This is notable because it was the first I ever played against Necrons. Check it out here.

Meanwhile, I'm also ramping up my eBay sales. First, I'd just like to remind you that I have a couple of books still up for sale but the auctions will be ending within the hour.

Cyberpunk

Night City sourcebook

As these are about to end I've put two more RPG books up for sale. These are both for Call of Cthulhu.

Cthulhu Classics
A full-length campaign, five more heart-pounding adventures, and a full-colour mythos gallery.

Escape From Innsmouth is based on H.P. Lovecraft's popular "The Shadow Over Innsmouth," a haunting tale of a nearly forgotten town cursed by a blasphemous pact.
