I played the first game of Blood Bowl in the Old Albion Premier league 2500 season last night, and you can read all about it here. It was a game between the Wolfenburg Shadows and the Lorien Avengers.
As well as the game itself, you can check out the updated team sheets, and the season stats so far.

GENERAL: OAP 2498 season round-up
I've dug deep into my archives to bring you the game reports for an entire Old Albion Premier Blood Bowl season. You can read all about it here (check out the blog archive for each weeks games and results).
That round-up covers the whole of the 2498 season and I'll be adding further season when I have time. I'll also be reporting back from the current OAP league (2500).

GENERAL: Google eyed
I'm checking in to let you know that I've updated my Blood Bowl blog with all of the team rosters for my current teams. I've entered them as spreadsheets using Google docs. This is the first time I've used them so fingers crossed I've passed all my Use Computer tests and everyone can see them. If you can't, please let me know.
I'll be adding lots of content to each team profile page in due course (providing I can find all the material from my very old static HTML website). And apart from old stuff, Gary and I will be starting the 2500 season soon, so I'll have plenty of new stuff to blog about.
Okay, I'm off now to flick through the latest edition of White Dwarf which has just plopped through my letterbox.

GENERAL: The Phoenix rises
This is just a short post to point you in the direction of my battle reports blog where I have finally posted the tenth and final battle report in the Phoenix Campaign. I'll be doing a full round-up of the conclusion of the campaign shortly, with views on how it ran, what was good and what could be better.
Meanwhile, during the past week I've been devouring Legion by Dan Abnett and I finished it yesterday. It was a real page turner and an upturn in quality in the Horus Heresy series after the truly dreadful Descent of Angels. I'm now looking forward to Battle for the Abyss and especially Mechanicum.
Until then I can concentrate on reducing the pile of unread books on my GW bookshelf...

GENERAL: A new lone pilgrim blog
The more observant of you will have noticed some changes to this blog and my battle reports blog. I've made the changes to incorporate my brand new blog, the Old Albion Premier League.
This new blog will follow the highs and lows of all the Blood Bowl leagues I run. Blood Bowl is one of the best games that Games Workshop have ever made and I have played many matches over the years.
I'll be putting up all the old game reports from previous seasons, as well as profiles of all the teams who have taken part. In fact, if you head on over there now you can read all about the Blood Rivva Nobblas and the Gorechildren.
The reason I have started the new blog now is so that I can record the new season I am about to start. I'll be posting up a load of stuff on there over the next week or so and I'll be sure to give you a head up on here as I do.
Also, in other news, keep an eye out for the last battle in the 40k Phoenix campaign which I'll be publishing on this blog by the end of the week.

NEW MODEL FUND: Model funds can go down as well as up
My penny jar was overflowing so I counted up the coins and produced another £10 for my New Model Fund.
The bad news is that I made some purchases and I still haven't managed to get anything on e-bay. The more observant among you will have noticed I have mentioned two additions to my Chaos Space Marines army; Abaddon and a Brass Scorpion. They set me back £12 and £55 respectively.
Here's the damage:
Meanwhile, I've added some more content to my Blood Bowl blog. My latest post splits the league into two divisions and sets out the fixtures to be played.

Here's the damage:
- Total income from sales (and my penny jar) £364.36
- Less selling fees £31.02
- Less models bought £366.16
- New model fund -£32.82

GENERAL: No excuses
I have completely finished the overhaul of my painting/desk area and you can see the results in the photograph below.
The lamp should help me to get models painted on dark winter nights and the fan will keep me cool in the summer. I now have no excuses not to paint!
Watch this space as I start on my works in progress.

GENERAL: Nice rack
Phase one of my plan to rejuvenate my games room is now complete. I have put together the paint and tool racks from miniature scenery (which took far longer than I expected) and have populated them with my paints and tools. I'll probably write a full length review about them in the future but for now they seem to hold most of my hobby stuff admirably.
Despite throwing away half a dozen dried out paint pots I have quite a few that don't fit into the racks, mostly metallics and inks, so I may need to invest in another rack. I also can't find room for my saw (bottom left) as it is just too big.
Moving all my stuff from my old Games Workshop painting tray meant that I could put my cutting board on it and use it for storing my works in project. I'll drag it out of the corner and use it to paint on when necessary.
It's a bit cluttered at the moment, largely due to two Apocalypse behemoths; a Baneblade and my Brass Scorpion interpretation. If you look closely you might also see a Khorne Berzerker squad, an Abaddon blister and some stuff from the Battle for MaCragge box. Although the Phoenix campaign is completed, I still want to finish my Chaos models for a big Apocalypse dust up.
My next job is to put together the desk lamp and try to fit it onto my desk then try to find somewhere to put all of the stuff that has accumulated on my gaming table/model drawers set up.

GENERAL: Order out of chaos
After an exhausting couple of weeks at work I've taken a few days off to concentrate on hobby related shenanigans. Huzzah!
So what will I be getting up to?
The main thing I want to do is wrap up the Phoenix campaign. If you've been following the action so far my Exigators Chaos Space Marines have been involved in a vicious tussle with Gary's Eldar on the planet of Kutch in the Skolarii Sector. We've played nine games and everything is in the balance for our tenth and final game. I'll be getting the battle report typed up over the next two days and then I'll be looking back over the whole campaign and discussing what worked and what didn't.
The other big task I have set myself is to sort out my gaming room. I don't think I've ever posted pics of my home set up on lone pilgrim so here's my chance.
The gaming room is a real luxury for me as for many years I painted my models from the sofa and played my games at the local store or on a rickety table in the living room. Not ideal.
When we sorted out our new house I got my own gaming room and made a real effort to get a decent set up organised. I bought a big desk, lots of shelving and cabinets which could store models and also support a gaming table.
That was about a eighteen months ago and since then I have made very few changes. Until now.
The place is a right mess, it needs a thorough clean up. I need to find permanent living spaces for the stuff I want to keep and e-bay the rest.
I'm not using the storage space as well as I could either. I need to go through all the stuff I just whacked in boxes when I first moved in and put them in some sort of logical order.
As I've mentioned before I'm also going through a bad phase with my painting. I think, in part at least, it may have something to do with my set up. I have therefore bought some specialist paint holders and a new lamp to reorganise my desk. I'm hoping that this will give me a nudge in the right direction.
If I have any free time after this little lot I want to try my new painting area and finally get my Chaos Space Marines finished. I've got the rest of the Berzerkers to paint, my Brass Mantis to construct and paint and a few other bits and bobs.
I plan to blog a lot over the coming days so watch this space.
